We have a busy Monday of all-weather racing from Lingfield and Newcastle, live on Sky Sports Racing.
5.25 Lingfield – In-form Harlington seeks the four-timer
A field of 10 contest the final race at Lingfield in the Download The At The Races App Handicap over 1m2f. Charlie Clover’s Harlington will bid for a fourth straight win off a career-high mark. After finishing second on stable debut in January, Harlington has won his next three starts, including over today’s course and distance. The addition of Tom Marquand, who rides him for the first time, is a further boost.
Neil King’s Victors Spirit is the chief threat after scoring his first career win nine days ago in a race where a first-time hood was used; he drops back to his shortest-ever trip. Roger Teal’s The Hare Rail arrives on a career-low mark seeking his first win, while Golden Circet, having had a wind operation, is an intriguing contender for Jim and Suzi Best. Also of interest are Double Red for Henry Candy and Kieran Shoemark’s mount Perfect Scoundrel.
6.00 Newcastle – Analogical pursues third career win
A field of six go to post in the Download The At The Races App Handicap at Newcastle. Sir Mark Prescott saddles four-year-old Analogical, who has finished second in his last two starts—beaten by a nose and a short head—and now drops back in trip seeking a third career win. David O’Meara’s Mao Shang Won was denied a hat-trick 17 days ago after victories at Newcastle and Doncaster; Daniel Tudhope is back aboard. Previous course-and-distance winner Clansman has been consistent since returning from a 208-day break and drops back in trip aiming for an eighth career win. Moon Sniper was unlucky not to score at Southwell two starts back and may be nicely handicapped on stable debut for Jessica Bedi. Patrol (Dylan Cunha) and Roger Henry (Lizzie Quinlan) complete the line-up.
3.21 Lingfield – Sea Of Charm looks to return to winning ways
Seven go to post in the Joan Butcher 90th Birthday Fillies’ Handicap over 1m4f. Sea Of Charm has been consistent for Georgina Nicholls, winning three of her last five, and William Cox returns to the saddle—he has ridden her for three of her seven career wins. Rose Cotton for Tom Clover won on her first start of the year on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in January; she failed to justify favouritism last month and steps up in trip today. Richard Hannon’s Schemaya and last-time-out winner Twilight Moon are other contenders in this seven-strong field.
