Privacy Policy
What information we collect when you use Sports World Zone, why we collect it and the choices you have.
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Sports World Zone ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit sportsworldzone.com, how we use it, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it. We process personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Who is responsible for your data
Sports World Zone is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy, or to exercise any of your rights, at [email protected].
Information we collect
You can read Sports World Zone without creating an account or telling us who you are. We collect only the following:
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers automatically record details of each visit, including your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time of your visit.
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message.
- Cookies. We use a small number of cookies, described in our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- To deliver the website to you and keep it secure, including detecting and preventing abuse, spam and attacks. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe and reliable website.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages and sports are most read so that we can improve our coverage. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in developing our service.
- To reply to your messages, corrections and enquiries. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To comply with our legal obligations where they apply.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Third-party services
Our pages load web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google when you visit. Google's handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.
The share buttons on our articles are ordinary links. Nothing is sent to a social network unless you choose to click one, at which point you leave our site and that network's own privacy policy applies.
If we introduce analytics or advertising services in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept for no longer than is needed for security and operational purposes, normally up to twelve months, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Correspondence is kept for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and normally no longer than two years.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the website, such as our hosting provider, and only to the extent they need it to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
International transfers
Some of the providers we use may process data outside the UK or the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under data protection law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
- ask us to transfer your information to another organisation, where that is technically feasible.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Sports World Zone is a general-audience news website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections to our website. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
