Newmarket Racing Picks: Key Bets for Friday, October 30

The excitement is palpable as Friday's horse racing action unfolds at Newmarket. Renowned for its quality events, Newmarket will host thrilling races including the rescheduled Group 3 St Simon Stakes, originally meant for last week.

Fans can anticipate a bright start at 11:35 AM, setting the stage for an exhilarating day ahead.

Featured Tips for Newmarket

The following tips include a standout horse and supplementary selections to keep an eye on. All odds referenced are provided by Sky Bet.

1:45 PM - Bosra Sham Fillies' Stakes (Listed - 6f)

• Etonante (nap) ⭐⭐⭐ @ 11/1

Etonante, trained by Karl Burke, looks to be a promising contender in the Bosra Sham Fillies' Stakes. With two minor wins under her belt and two Group race attempts, she demonstrates potential worth watching. Her performance in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes revealed that the competition in that race was notably strong, as all horses ahead of her have either won at Listed level or achieved placement in Group races.

Most recently, she faced challenges in a Group 3 at Ayr, where the heavy ground undoubtedly posed issues. Previous victories on similar ground conditions point to her capability, and with favorable circumstances ahead, she's one to back as the day's top bet.

2:20 PM - St Simon Stakes (Group 3 - 1m 4f)

• Evanesco ⭐⭐ @ 10/1

In the prestigious St Simon Stakes, Evanesco stands out as a compelling pick. Although Aegean Prince made a mark in the Old Borough Cup, this race presents a different challenge with a decrease in distance and an elevation in grade. Evanesco, trained by Charlie Johnston, is one of just two three-year-olds lining up for this race, and he has shown commendable form at Newmarket previously with results of 4-1-2, narrowly missing out with top weight in a competitive handicap recently.

Given his progress thus far, this could be the ideal stepping stone for him to showcase his growing talent.
