Joe Cullen Questions Why Brooks Was Favourite

On Sunday, 14 December 2025, Joe Cullen questioned why Bradley Brooks had been marked as the favourite ahead of their World Darts Championship meeting after defeating him. Cullen expressed surprise at the pre-match expectation and said the result spoke for itself, pointing to his own performance on the night.

Cullen's win sees him progress in the tournament and raises questions about how the betting markets and pundits judged the pairing beforehand. He suggested that form and head-to-head assessments can change quickly in the Championship and that players deserve credit when they produce on stage.

Brooks, meanwhile, exits the match having fallen short against an opponent who felt underrated. The contest highlighted how unpredictable Grand Slam play can be and underlined Cullen's belief that pre-match labels do not determine the outcome.
