International Boxing Association to Celebrate Media Achievements in December

In an exciting development for the boxing community, the International Boxing Association (IBA) is set to honor media professionals at the upcoming Global Boxing Forum in Istanbul, Türkiye, on December 4, 2026. This event marks a significant step in recognizing the hard work and dedication of those who contribute to the sport's coverage.

Acknowledging Excellence Across Multiple Platforms

The new awards aim to celebrate the diverse contributions made by journalists, photographers, broadcasters, and digital content creators in the boxing world. Instead of limiting recognition to IBA events held during the final months of the year, the awards reflect an evaluation of outstanding work throughout all of 2026.

Among those categories that will be acknowledged include individual journalists, editorial teams, and social media influencers. Their storytelling and imagery play a crucial role in connecting boxing to fans globally, further amplifying the sport's reach and impact.

Upcoming Announcement of Categories and Criteria

Details regarding specific award categories and the criteria for evaluation will be shared in November 2026. Although the initial announcement did not specify the nomination process or the submission guidelines, anticipation is building as boxing fans await further information.

The IBA is committed to ensuring that all contributions made throughout the year are fairly considered, making this initiative particularly appealing to those involved in boxing journalism and media.

Global Boxing Forum and Related Events

The media awards will coincide with the IBA Ordinary Election Congress, which is scheduled for December 5, 2026. The Global Boxing Forum promises to be an engaging event, serving as a platform for discussions and ideas within the sport.

Additionally, Istanbul will be the backdrop for the inaugural IBA President’s Cup, taking place from November 27 to December 4. The culmination of this prestigious tournament will coincide with the awards ceremony, featuring finals at the Sinan Erdem Sports Arena.
