Don Charles Slaps Daniel Dubois After Sluggish Start

Sunday 10 May 2026 — A ringside video captures trainer Don Charles delivering two slaps and a series of strong instructions to Daniel Dubois after a slow start in his fight with Fabio Wardley. The brief clip shows Charles leaning into Dubois between rounds, using the physical jolt and a sharp verbal reminder to try to snap his fighter back into the contest.

The footage, posted alongside the broadcast, was described by commentators as a piece of ‘tough love’ from the corner as Dubois regrouped. The intervention was short but emphatic, with Dubois appearing to steady himself before the next phase of the fight.

The clip has since been shared widely online, prompting debate over the use of such tactics in the corner, while also underlining the intensity of high-level boxing coaching when a fighter begins sluggishly.
