A full Friday card is live on Sky Sports Racing, featuring meetings at Doncaster, Lingfield, Newbury and Wolverhampton. Here are the main races and horses to watch.
3.12 Lingfield — Midnite Awc Sprint Trial Handicap
Last year’s winner Ferrous returns and looks set for a rematch with the progressive El Bodon. Jane Chapple-Hyam’s El Bodon is unbeaten in three all‑weather outings, including over this course and distance, and kept on well at Kempton last time despite a 3 lb rise. Ferrous, reunited with Tom Marquand, was successful in this event 12 months ago but that victory came off a mark 10 lb lower; he has shown good form this season, notably finishing a strong fourth behind Diligent Harry in the Kachy Stakes. Kevin Philippart de Foy’s Lakers, third from a wide draw in a competitive Southwell contest, is another to respect.
3.00 Newbury — OLBG ‘Chasing Excellence’ Novices’ Chase
Miami Magic heads a quality novices’ chase for Stuart Edmunds. After getting off the mark at the third attempt at Cheltenham, he didn’t fire in the Scilly Isles at Sandown but should appreciate the drop in class and is expected to handle the shorter trip under Charlie Hammond despite carrying a penalty. Wyenot, trained by Henry Daly, has had a wind operation since a disappointing run at Bangor and could rebound if that has helped; she is likely the main danger. That’s Nice, Elysian Knight and Thank You Ma’am round out a competitive quintet.
2.12 Lingfield — BetMGM AW 3YO Trial Handicap
This competitive six‑furlong handicap sees the in‑form Henrythenate take on Mr Juggles. Henrythenate, now with Stuart Williams, has won both starts for his new yard and looks well suited stepping up from five to six furlongs. Mr Juggles (Mick Appleby) scored on his handicap debut at Southwell and goes up 7 lb, so retains strong claims. Each‑way players include Star Of Albion and Saffron Dandy, while Horace Wallace is interesting on his first handicap run.
Best of the rest
3.45 Lingfield (AW Marathon Trial) — Roaring Legend (last year’s winner) and Enemy to note.
4.20 Lingfield (AW Middle Distance Trial) — Duke’s Command preferred for Tom Marquand; Lord Melbourne also interesting.
4.53 Lingfield (AW Mile Trial) — Superposition among a field of ten.
2.42 Lingfield (AW Fillies & Mares Trial) — Bridget’s View tops a 11‑runner line up.
3.35 Newbury — Talk To The Man (Paul Nicholls) catches the eye after a Taunton win.
4.08 Newbury — A fair handicap chase featuring Carbon Man and Daytime Dreaming.
2.30 Newbury — Lady Cecilia could be an improver for Lucy Wadham.
6.15 Wolverhampton — Starglow (Charlie Appleby, ridden by Conor Planas) is a well‑bred prospect related to Romantic Style.
5.45 Wolverhampton — Benacre and Maximising both hold claims.
12.25 Chantilly — Vatican expected to be popular.
1.00 Chantilly — Keep an eye on Turbulante.
Other news: Champion Hurdle winner Constitution Hill has been ruled out of the Cheltenham Festival and will not race over hurdles again, while Ka Ying Rising extended a remarkable winning sequence to 18 in Hong Kong.
