Amanda Serrano will put her WBA and WBO featherweight world titles on the line against Lucrecia Manzur on August 21 in Temecula, California — a landmark fight that will stream live on TikTok.
Promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the bout at Pechanga Resort Casino is billed as the first-ever unified women’s world championship contested over 12 two-minute rounds. It also marks the first championship boxing event to be broadcast live on TikTok, expanding the sport’s reach to a global audience.
Serrano arrives after a second-round stoppage of Cheyenne Hanson at the end of May, her 32nd professional knockout, and says she is chasing the all-time women’s knockout record. She framed the fight as part of a wider mission to grow women’s boxing, saying the platform will help introduce the sport to many new fans and that she fights for Puerto Rico and history.
Manzur, the WBO’s No. 2 contender, comes in with a 14-4 record and seven KOs. She said she has long sought a title opportunity, expressed respect for Serrano’s career and legacy, but stressed that once they’re in the ring her sole focus is on winning.
The undercard features U.S. Olympian Jahmal Harvey taking on Hammet Keb in a six-round lightweight contest, and Brazil’s Jully Poca facing the USA’s Cinderella Linnear in a four-round super lightweight bout.
MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian highlighted the promotion’s goal of building bigger moments and new distribution for boxing. They described the TikTok partnership as a way to grow the sport’s audience and make world championship fights more accessible, particularly to Gen Z and Gen Alpha viewers. MVP also praised Serrano as the promotion’s ‘Most Accomplished Female Fighter Ever,’ noting her profile, pay, titles and the possibility of adding the women’s knockout record to her list of achievements on August 21.
The event is positioned as a significant step for women’s boxing — a title defense with historical firsts and a global livestream that aims to reach fans who might not otherwise catch championship fights.
