On his podcast, Gary Neville launched a blistering critique of Manchester United following their 1-1 draw with West Ham, condemning what he called a culture of “softness” within the squad. Neville argued the team lacked the necessary physicality and intensity, repeatedly allowing West Ham to apply pressure rather than forcing the issue themselves. He said United failed to assert control against an organised opponent and too often capitulated under sustained probing.
Neville highlighted defensive weaknesses and a midfield that did not press or tackle decisively when required, leaving gaps that invited danger. He urged players to show more aggression and urgency and called on the coaching staff and club leadership to deal with the mentality problems swiftly if United are to compete reliably at the highest level. Without a rapid shift in attitude and application, Neville warned, results and consistency will continue to suffer.
