Leeds Rhinos produced a ruthless attacking display as Super League leaders thumped Toulouse Olympique 46-0, while Wigan Warriors closed to within two points after a 20-8 victory over Leigh Leopards and Hull KR beat Bradford Bulls 40-16.
Leeds 46-0 Toulouse
Jake Connor was the standout as Leeds ran in eight tries. Connor crossed twice and kicked seven conversions as the Rhinos overwhelmed the visitors. Riley Lumb’s work helped create the opening score and Connor’s no-look pass released Mikolaj Oledzki for another early try. Tom Holroyd touched down on the stroke of half-time after an offload from Presley Cassell.
The second half saw James McDonnell break through soon after the restart and Harry Newman finish a move down the wing just before the hour. Connor added his second try shortly afterwards, and late scores from Brodie Croft and Riley Lumb completed a dominant night for the champions.
Wigan 20-8 Leigh
Wigan made it ten straight wins in all competitions with a hard-fought win over local rivals Leigh. The Leopards started brightly, with early points off the boot and an Innes Senior try giving them an early lead. Leigh extended their lead to 8-0 before Wigan hit back late in the first half to get on the scoreboard.
After the interval Wigan seized control. Bevan French went over following quick work from his side, then in-form Zach Eckersley intercepted and raced to the line. Eckersley soon helped set up Noah Hodkinson for another score as Wigan turned Leigh errors into points. The Warriors held firm to hand Leigh their first defeat in six and keep the pressure on Leeds at the top.
Hull KR 40-16 Bradford
Hull KR cruised to a convincing win over Championship side Bradford. Joe Burgess marked a milestone by scoring twice to reach 200 career tries. KR led 16-10 at the break before Jez Litten, Tom Davies and Elliot Minchella crossed in the second half to put the result beyond doubt and move the reigning Super League champions into the top four.
