Head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead have agreed to multi-year contract extensions to remain with the Los Angeles Rams, the team announced Monday.
Since Snead and owner Stan Kroenke hired the then-30-year-old McVay in 2017 — a year after the franchise returned to Los Angeles from St. Louis — the Rams are 92-57 in the regular season and 10-6 in the playoffs under their leadership. The team immediately ended a 12-year playoff drought, reached the Super Bowl one year later, and won the franchise’s second Super Bowl title in February 2022.
Under McVay, the Rams have posted eight winning seasons, seven playoff berths and four NFC West titles in nine years. McVay is the youngest coach to reach and to win a Super Bowl.
This season the Rams went 12-5 and won two road playoff games to reach the NFC Championship, where they fell to the Seattle Seahawks. McVay said the team is optimistic Matthew Stafford will return for an 18th NFL season but will wait for the quarterback’s own announcement.
McVay confirmed he has hired Bubba Ventrone as special teams coordinator. He has not yet named a replacement offensive coordinator after Mike LaFleur left to become the Arizona Cardinals’ head coach.
