Trainer Gary Logan has offered his read on the WBO heavyweight showdown between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois on Sunday, laying out what each fighter must do to win — and warning that treating the contest like a six‑round tune‑up could effectively sideline the victor for the rest of the year.
Logan says Wardley’s path to victory is built around control and consistency. He believes Wardley needs to impose his jab, manage distance, work the body to slow Dubois down and keep a steady pace that favours sustained pressure rather than flash knockout hunting.
For Dubois, Logan stresses timing and movement. He suggests Dubois must pick his moments, avoid head‑on slugging, use feints and counters to create openings and be selective with his power shots so he doesn’t leave himself exposed to Wardley’s follow‑up.
Above all, Logan warns both camps not to approach the fight as a short, low‑risk outing. In his view, a six‑round plan would be a mistake — it sends the wrong message about readiness and could mean the winner has little meaningful activity left for the year ahead. He says both men should prepare for a full, tactical contest that could define their next 12 months in the division.
