Tyson Fury has confirmed his next bout will take place on Saturday, August 1, in Dublin.
The heavyweight champion framed the match as a tune-up ahead of his much‑anticipated showdown with Anthony Joshua scheduled for November. Fury’s August opponent has not yet been revealed, but promoter Frank Warren told Sky Sports that the name should be announced this week.
Warren already has an IBO super‑lightweight contest pencilled in for August 1 in Dublin — Pierce O’Leary vs Mark Chamberlain — which has prompted speculation that Fury will be added to the same card.
Fury posted a short training clip from Thailand on Instagram on Tuesday with the caption: “let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland,” signalling he is back in camp and focused on the summer date.
Anthony Joshua is due to fight Albanian challenger Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on July 25, leaving roughly four months between that bout and the Fury–Joshua meeting in November.
Fury’s most recent ring appearance was a unanimous points victory over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Makhmudov went the distance, with two judges scoring the fight 120‑108 and the third 119‑109 in Fury’s favour.
More details, including Fury’s opponent and the full Dublin fight card, are expected to be released in the coming days.
