Snoop Dogg has been named Team USA’s first-ever honorary coach for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced. “Coach Snoop” will join the “team behind the team,” the support staff group tasked with uplifting athletes and providing morale and motivation in Italy. The honor follows his high-profile role at Paris 2024 as Team USA’s hype-man and his performance during the LA 2028 handover ceremony.
The 54-year-old said Team USA athletes are the real stars and that he’s there to cheer, uplift and offer a little sideline wisdom, hoping to add love and motivation to the squad. He added that from the moment he arrived in Paris he felt welcomed by the USOPC family and energized by the pride and passion that surrounds the team. Snoop’s honorary position also builds on his long record of supporting grassroots sport, including the Snoop Youth Football League, which has helped roughly 15,000 young athletes with and without disabilities.
USOPC chief executive Sarah Hirshland praised the instant connection Snoop formed with athletes — noting mutual respect, curiosity and plenty of laughter — and said his enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic movement is contagious. She said the organization is thrilled to officially welcome him as a member of the “Team Behind the Team.”
