Sky Sports Racing serves up a full Saturday of live action from Newton Abbot and Wolverhampton, featuring competitive handicaps and several horses of note.
3.49 Newton Abbot — Happy 45th Birthday Andy Hurtley Handicap Chase
In-form Calimystic and Kap Ouest clash over fences. Nicky Henderson’s Calimystic is two-from-two over the bigger obstacles after a cosy Sandown success last month and runs here burdened with a 6 lb penalty. Kap Ouest arrives in good heart following a handy Exeter victory and looks likely to improve further in this sphere. Among others to consider are Wincanton scorer Nickelforce and Bumpy Evans, who is five-from-eight over fences and arrives dropping in class.
4.20 Newton Abbot — South West Rail Solutions Ltd. Handicap Hurdle
Call Me Legend and Crossgales King headline this contest. Topweight Call Me Legend, prepared by the Hobbs and White team, was narrowly beaten by a stablemate at Exeter and has cheekpieces added to coax out more improvement. Crossgales King, beaten only a length by Call Me Legend on his penultimate start, scored a first success over hurdles at Wincanton most recently and should be competitive again. Top Guy and Walk Tall complete the shortlist.
7.30 Wolverhampton — Thank You To Omari For The Support Handicap
The evening feature at Dunstall Park sees Codiak bidding for a hat-trick. Ed Bethell’s four-year-old impressed at Southwell, rallying from an awkward position to win well, and is the one to beat under Callum Rodriguez. Pride Of Donegal, who doubled up over course and distance, must be respected if repeating that form. James Fanshawe’s Charmaine is weighted to be competitive if fully fit on her return after a 195-day absence.
