Sky Sports Racing brings live Wednesday coverage from Newcastle and Sedgefield, with races to watch throughout the card.
3.17 Sedgefield — Supreme George bids for another win
In-form Supreme George heads a compact six-runner field for the Chris Blanckley Supporting Fairlight Studio Handicap Chase. Trained by Donald McCain, the six-year-old has won his last three starts and is now three wins from four over fences. A four-pound rise in the weights is a concern but he looks to have further improvement over fences.
Sea Thrift arrives in first-time tongue-tie after a comfortable success at Plumpton; she jumped well there and could prove hard to catch if allowed to dictate. Double Digits disappointed on his chase debut but may progress, while the experienced Treaty Boy has slipped to an appealing mark.
5.30 Newcastle — Spartan Fighter chases a four-timer
Spartan Fighter attempts a fourth straight victory in the Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Handicap. The nine-year-old, trained by Anthony Brittain, completed a course-and-distance hat-trick when narrowly prevailing in a similar race 15 days ago and remains respected despite a further five-pound rise.
Yorkshire Glory claimed a third all-weather success last time and could improve with cheekpieces, while Pit Boss drops back to this trip after a solid second at Newcastle four days ago. Fircombe Hall also merits consideration.
6.30 Newcastle — Hayynah expected to break her maiden
Hayynah is the one to beat in the Midnite Ain’t Your Grandad’s Bookie Maiden Stakes. Olly Sangster’s filly by Showcasing has finished runner-up in three of four starts, including when odds-on at Wolverhampton, and returns in first-time cheekpieces with a rating of 83.
Maybe Soon, a half-sister to several AW winners, showed promise on debut at Southwell and should go well under Andrew Elliott. Newcomer Champonie is worth monitoring in the market, and Bennyworth will need to improve on his Lingfield debut while wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
Best of the rest
At Happy Valley expect rides from Dylan Browne McMonagle, Andrea Atzeni and Zac Purton. In the 7.30 Newcastle race, Sintra is one to note for Juddmonte and Pendella could have a big chance for Karl Burke. At Cagnes-sur-Mer (1.30), the Wertheimer brothers look to have a solid chance with Astira.
