Sky Sports Racing turns in-depth attention to Lingfield and Newcastle today, with an eye also on the Listed feature at Saint-Cloud.
6.30 Newcastle — Doctor Khan Junior expected to go well
Doctor Khan Junior heads an eight-runner line-up for the Win £250,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap at Newcastle. The seven-year-old, trained by George Oldroyd, has shown a liking for all-weather surfaces — he claimed a sixth AW success at Southwell in January — and PJ McDonald stays in the saddle. Last year’s winner Nikovo arrives in form, having finished in the placings on his last three starts (third at Kempton most recently) and looks dangerous under Jason Hart. Aisling Oscar returns after two defeats following a record-equalling sequence, while Eldrickjones, only beaten three lengths when fourth last time, must not be discounted.
3.25 Lingfield — Fidelius and Toolatetonegotiate headline a tricky handicap
Fidelius and Toolatetonegotiate top a competitive renewal of the Make The Move To Midnite Handicap. Robert Cowell teams up with Tom Marquand on Fidelius, who won over course and distance two runs ago and then chased home Atomic Force in a Chelmsford Class 2 — he looks well placed to resume winning ways. Toolatetonegotiate was a length behind Fidelius in their February meeting and could narrow that margin with a cleaner break from the stalls. The Thames Boatman is the pick of the remainder after a course-and-distance victory three starts back; he carries an extra 2lb compared with that win but remains a live contender.
2.34 Saint-Cloud — Listed Prix Altipan features Silius, Ultrafragola and returning Fast Tracker
The Listed Prix Altipan at Saint-Cloud appears set up for a clash between Silius and Ultrafragola, with Fast Tracker making a notable comeback. Francis-Henri Graffard’s Ultrafragola, ridden by Christophe Soumillon, doubled her tally when winning a conditions race on reappearance at Deauville and merits a crack at this level. Fast Tracker returns from 509 days off after a six-length success in this grade at Deauville in October 2024; the gelded three-year-old switches to Ed Walker’s care for his comeback. Silius, who scored at Chantilly in January, also shapes as a serious contender.
