After a turbulent season, Lando Norris emerged as the 2025 World Champion. The year was full of drama and momentum swings; below is the first of six moments that, in my view, defined his title-winning campaign.
1. Monaco pole lap
Pole position in Monaco is the holy grail for any young driver — the qualifying pressure there is immense. Norris arrived in the Principality having lost some confidence and trailing Oscar Piastri by 13 points, yet he produced one of his best weekends of the year. While Piastri battled grip issues and even kissed the barriers, Norris stepped up when it mattered most on F1’s most exacting circuit and claimed pole.
