Rangers have sealed the signing of 22-year-old forward Ryan Naderi on Deadline Day, with the transfer reported to be worth £4.7m. The deal follows an earlier summer agreement thought to be around £3m, but further negotiations with Hansa Rostock — who wanted to retain him until season’s end — led to the move being concluded this month.
Naderi becomes manager Danny Röhl’s fourth addition in January, joining Andreas Skov Olsen (loan), and the permanent signings of midfielder Tochi Chukuwani and left-back Tuur Rommens. He has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Ibrox side.
On the club’s website Naderi expressed his delight at the transfer, saying he is excited by the opportunity, determined to make the most of it and motivated by Rangers’ winning history. He added that he is looking forward to meeting team-mates, staff and supporters, and hopes to make a positive contribution for the remainder of the season.
Röhl welcomed the new recruit, highlighting Naderi’s goal threat and his creative contribution in Germany through assists. The manager praised the youngster’s potential and said the club will support his adaptation, aiming to help develop his game further in a Rangers shirt.
Naderi started his senior career with his hometown club Dynamo Dresden, moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021 and later featured for Hansa Rostock before completing the move to Glasgow.
