Paris Saint-Germain produced a professional, mature display to earn a 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich and progress to the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30 via a 6-5 aggregate win.
Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring after three minutes, crashing home Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s dangerous cross, and PSG managed the game thereafter, largely stifling the German champions. Bayern’s attacking threat was limited; Michael Olise curled over in the first half and Harry Kane’s late consolation felt undeserved until his 94th-minute left-footed finish.
There was first-half controversy when Bayern felt Nuno Mendes should have been sent off for deliberate handball while already on a booking. Referee Joao Pinheiro awarded a foul the other way for a questionable handball by Konrad Laimer. Later, Joao Neves appeared to handle inside the box after Vitinha’s clearance, but the laws prevent penalising a player if the ball inadvertently touches him after being kicked by a team-mate. Both incidents angered Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany.
PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov’s only second-half stops of note were comfortable saves from Olise and Luis Diaz, while Desire Doue and Kvaratskhelia both tested Manuel Neuer. Substitute Bradley Barcola went close late on, but Bayern could not find a way through until Kane’s stoppage-time strike.
For Bayern, who had scored at least three times in each of their previous six home games, hopes of a treble have gone. PSG will head to Budapest on May 30 as heavy contenders.

Reactions
Vincent Kompany (Bayern): He criticised officiating decisions across both legs, saying too much had gone against his side and questioning common sense in handball rulings. He highlighted the two contentious handball incidents—Alphonso Davies’ first-leg situation and Joao Neves in this match—and questioned a second-yellow decision in the first half that he felt was mishandled by the referee.
Luis Enrique (PSG): “Good memories. We could leave the match with a lot of intensity. The defence were better than the attack. The character we showed against a team like Bayern is so positive. We’re so happy to reach a second Champions League final in a row. It was very intense. Very difficult. They play football at the highest level. We are very happy. In two days I’m going to celebrate my birthday. I’m very happy. We’re in the next phase of the competition, the final of the Champions League. We want to give our supporters that kind of gift.”
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (PSG): “We are very proud that we did it again. But we have a final and we need to be ready for that game. It will be important for us of course. The best game in our life. We will give everything for this cup. It was very important that we scored very fast. I saw Dembele was alone and he gave a very good finish. I’m very proud of him, but also all of the team. The spirit was amazing and I’m proud that I’m one of these guys. We respect all of the teams, for us it’s very important to play our game and concentrate on that. We don’t think about who our opponents will be, we prepare our game and give everything. It will be very difficult, of course, it’s a Champions League final so it doesn’t matter which team is your opponent. You just have to go on the pitch.”
