Passing Pleasure will attempt to make it three wins in a row for trainer Oliver Greenall and jockey Josh Guerriero when he lines up in Tuesday’s feature at Newcastle.
4.05 Newcastle — Passing Pleasure bids to complete hat-trick
Eight go to post in the penultimate Virgin Bet A Good Bet Handicap Chase over about two miles and seven furlongs. Passing Pleasure tops the weights and has been unbeaten since joining Greenall from Lawney Hill. The six-year-old failed to win in four starts for his previous stable but has taken both outings for his new yard, including a promising chase debut at Catterick, and steps up in trip on Tuesday.
Lucinda Russell’s Cosmic Blizzard is a player if a recent wind operation helps; he showed his best form at Kelso two starts ago but was pulled up over this course and distance last time. Veteran Uptown Harry, a 12-year-old for Jane Walton, arrives in good form with two seconds and a win from his last three and returns to a course and trip where he is unbeaten. Also of note are Dollar Collar, Cowboy Cooper and French raider Valence d’Aumont.
5.25 Wolverhampton — Gemmari and Shrimp Shady headline
Nine are declared for the Midnite Are Upping The Betting Game Handicap. Richard Hannon’s Gemmari is a strong contender after winning three of his last six starts. The Expert Eye gelding was gelded after early all-weather successes, had a 228-day break, then returned at Kempton in October and scored at Chelmsford last time; he now tackles a career-high mark.
Andrew Balding’s Shrimp Shady has disappointed as favourite in his last two runs but has produced solid all-weather form previously and steps up to 1m 6f for the first time for an in-form yard. Dance Time, a previous course-and-distance winner for David Loughnane, drops back in trip and benefits from the booking of Rossa Ryan. Stuart Williams’ Bystander stretches out to 14 furlongs for the first time and could be interesting up in trip. Robusto (Eve Johnson Houghton) has Billy Loughnane booked, while Circuit Breaker arrives on the back of two seconds and takes a notable ride from Cieren Fallon.
6.30 Wolverhampton — Beauzon chases sixth straight
Ian Williams’ Beauzon bids to extend an eye-catching winning streak to six in the Make The Move To Midnite Handicap. Having dropped to a career-low mark in January and with cheekpieces reinstated, the seven-year-old has rattled off victories at Lingfield and Wolverhampton and now carries a 5 lb rise as he seeks a sixth successive success that would move him closer to the All-Weather Horse of the Year top 10.
Woodhay Whisper, trained by Dylan Hogan and ridden by Jack Jones, looks the chief danger after a recent course-and-distance win and will try to record a third Dunstall Park success. Mart (Dylan Cunha) has been frequently placed since May and now races 3 lb below his last winning mark. Charlie Wallis will hope Due Date can recapture the form that delivered a six-furlong hat-trick last autumn, and Initial Blue (Dr Richard Newland/Jamie Insole) goes for back-to-back victories after a recent Kempton success.
