Head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead have each agreed to multi-year contract extensions to remain with the Los Angeles Rams, the team announced Monday.
Since Snead and owner Stan Kroenke hired McVay at age 30 in 2017 — a year after the franchise returned to Los Angeles — the Rams have gone 92-57 in the regular season and 10-6 in the playoffs under their leadership. The regime immediately ended a 12-year playoff drought, advanced to the Super Bowl the following season, and captured the franchise’s second Super Bowl title in February 2022.
During McVay’s nine-year tenure the Rams have produced eight winning seasons, made seven playoff appearances and won four NFC West titles. McVay also became the youngest coach to both reach and win a Super Bowl.
This past season Los Angeles finished 12-5, won two road playoff games and advanced to the NFC Championship, where they were defeated by the Seattle Seahawks. McVay said the team is optimistic quarterback Matthew Stafford will return for an 18th NFL season but that they will await Stafford’s own announcement.
McVay confirmed he has hired Bubba Ventrone as the team’s special teams coordinator. He has not yet named a replacement offensive coordinator after Mike LaFleur departed to accept the head-coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals.
Fans can watch the New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, February 8. Coverage begins at 10pm live on Sky Sports NFL, ahead of a kick-off scheduled for approximately 11:30pm.
