Leeds Rhinos 40-22 Wakefield Trinity
Maika Sivo grabbed a hat-trick as Leeds strengthened their hold on the Super League summit with a 40-22 victory over Wakefield at Headingley. Jake Connor contributed 16 points from the boot and was directly involved in four of Leeds’ tries. The Rhinos were briefly reduced to 11 men early in the second half when Sivo and Ash Handley were both sin-binned, but still pulled clear. Sivo’s treble takes him to 17 tries this season, putting him well clear atop the try-scoring chart.
The match was disrupted in the fifth minute when Wakefield centre Cameron Scott had to be stretchered off after a collision with Leeds prop Keenan Palasia left him appearing unconscious. Play was halted for almost 15 minutes while Scott received treatment.
St Helens 40-16 York Knights
St Helens kept pace with the leaders, beating York 40-16 at the BrewDog Stadium. Bill Leyland opened the scoring and Owen Dagnall touched down twice as Saints raced into a 16-0 lead. York hit back through Jesse Dee, whose brace cut the deficit to six by half-time. In the final quarter Alex Walmsley, Jack Welsby, Jake Davies and Nene Macdonald crossed to seal a hard-fought win for Paul Rowley’s side, who remain second and level with Leeds on 14 points after nine matches.
