Hull FC held off a fierce second-half fightback from Catalans Dragons to secure a 24-20 victory at the MKM Stadium, earning back-to-back Betfred Super League wins.
Buoyed by last week’s success over Leeds, Hull dominated the opening 40 minutes, touching down four times. Arthur Romano opened the scoring after four minutes, and a Catalans error in the 13th allowed James Bell to tee up Lewis Martin for his fourth try of the season. Davy Litten then sent a high kick to Bell, who created the third try for Logan Moy. Sam Lisone, on the field for only moments, powered over with his first touch to give Hull a comfortable half-time lead.
The momentum shifted after the break as Catalans sprung into life, scoring four tries in a 12-minute burst. Lenny Marc went over first, before Leo Darrelatour crossed twice, one of them converted from the corner to reduce the deficit to just two points. Charlie Staines then touched down to set up a nervy final 10 minutes.
Hull got a crucial reprieve late on when they were awarded a penalty for a mid-air tackle on Moy. Zak Hardaker slotted the kick to extend the lead and calm the visitors’ comeback, sealing the result for the home side.
Match images included Davy Litten saluting the fans and Ligi Sao being tackled close to the line by Catalans’ Kruise Leeming.
