Caroline Dubois has been clear about her goal: she is chasing greatness, and the next step is a unification showdown with Terri Harper. The two meet on Sunday at London’s Olympia for the WBC and WBO lightweight titles, co-headlining an all-women’s card promoted by Jake Paul’s MVP and shown live on Sky Sports. The victor will stake a claim among the biggest names in women’s boxing. Dubois’ rise began far from big arenas. Her first amateur fight was in the function room of the Boston Arms pub — the same venue where Anthony Joshua had his amateur debut. To get more sparring early on she once passed as a boy called Colin, and on the handwritten programme she appeared as C. Dubois. From that first outing she showed a polished technique and an obvious ability. She says she always sensed she had something innate and has spent her career learning to maintain and refine it. Dubois first put on gloves at nine, and she speaks with pride about the young fighter who set her on this path. As an amateur she excelled, going unbeaten at junior and youth levels, and she qualified for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, although she left without a medal. Now 25 and settling into the professional ranks, she has embraced the entertainment side of pro boxing — including the trash-talk and theatrical build-up that were alien to amateur competition. Dubois has enjoyed fight week and the promotional sparring with Harper, and she accepts the responsibilities and scrutiny that come with being a titleholder. This match is her first unification at lightweight, and she believes champions should meet champions. For her it is an important career milestone but only the beginning: she knows tougher tests lie ahead and insists she must be ready for them, both for the pressure of fight night and for the need to back up bold words in the ring. Confident and focused, Dubois views Sunday as the start of a new phase — a chance to pass a major test and move closer to the long-term ambition of greatness. Watch Caroline Dubois vs Terri Harper for the lightweight world title unification live on Sky Sports this Sunday.
