Haas reserve driver Jack Doohan will combine his F1 responsibilities with an endurance programme in 2026, competing in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). Doohan has signed with Nielsen Racing to pilot the #24 LMP2 Oreca alongside Britain’s Ed Pearson and Israel’s Roy Nissany. The ELMS campaign begins with the 4 Hours of Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on April 12, 2026.
Doohan described the move as a fresh challenge and an opportunity to learn a different type of car and race format. He said he is eager to build chemistry with Pearson and Nissany, adapt quickly to the Oreca 07, and push for strong results with the experienced Nielsen Racing crew.
Haas’ 2026 reserve lineup will feature Doohan and Japanese endurance racer Ryo Hirakawa. Because Hirakawa is committed to the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship on weekends that alternate with ELMS rounds, the team expects to have an available backup whenever a substitute is needed, ensuring consistent coverage for F1 duties.
