Lauren Coughlin closed out a commanding five-shot victory at the Aramco Championship at Shadow Creek, posting seven under par after a level-par final round. The 33-year-old American secured her first win in two years, her third LPGA Tour title and her first on U.S. soil, taking the $600,000 winner’s prize.
Coughlin led from a first-round tie and never gave up the lead across the four rounds of the star-studded Las Vegas event, co-sanctioned by the LET and LPGA. After coming close at Shadow Creek last year, the victory felt particularly significant for her and erased some recent near-misses.
World No. 2 Nelly Korda and Leona Maguire shared second place at two under. Korda carded a 75 in the final round, including a lone birdie on the par-five 18th, marking her third consecutive runner-up finish following an opening-season win in Orlando. Maguire birdied the 72nd hole to finish with a 71 and move into a share of second. Miyu Yamashita was the only other player under par, finishing one under after a final-round 74.
The $4 million event featured 38 of the world’s top 40 players. Notable finishes included Nanna Koerstz Maden tied for seventh at one over, Carlota Ciganda tied ninth at two over, and Charley Hull tied 15th at five over.
Players said birdies were hard to come by at Shadow Creek, comparing the challenge to a major championship. Coughlin handled the 6,765-yard layout — which switched from match to stroke play this year — with composure. A turning point came early in the final round when she sank a 45-foot downhill birdie putt on the par-three eighth while Korda three-putted the same hole, suddenly creating a six-shot advantage that effectively decided the tournament. Coughlin stayed disciplined, focused on her routine and protected pars while others faltered to close out the win.
