Celtic scraped through to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals after extra time, beating Dundee 2-1 at a largely empty Celtic Park. Deadline‑day signing Junior Adamu levelled with the final kick of normal time on his debut, and substitute Sebastian Tounekti struck inside the second minute of extra time to settle the tie.
A boycott organised by the Celtic Fans Collective left the ground unusually quiet and contributed to a sluggish performance from Martin O’Neill’s side for much of the match. The small number of supporters who stayed on rallied behind the team as they saw out the win.
Last season’s runners-up will discover their quarter-final opponents after Sunday’s Stenhousemuir v Falkirk fixture, scheduled for 19:30 GMT.
Elsewhere in the cup, Dunfermline Athletic won the Fife derby, defeating Kelty Hearts 2-0, while Partick Thistle edged fourth-tier Elgin City 3-2. St Mirren joined the last eight after a 2-1 victory over Airdrieonians on Friday.
On Sunday, Rangers host Queen’s Park at Ibrox, and Stenhousemuir and Falkirk meet at Ochilview Park. Two ties were postponed because of heavy rain: Dundee United v Spartans and Aberdeen v Motherwell have been rearranged for Tuesday 17 February and Wednesday 18 February respectively.
