Sky Sports Racing brings a busy Monday of all-weather action from Wolverhampton, featuring competitive sprints and handicaps across the card.
8.30 Wolverhampton — Yorkshire Glory v Aisling Oscar
The card’s finale, the Midnite Ain’t Your Grandads Bookie Handicap (six furlongs), features a compact field of six and a head-to-head between the top two on the All-Weather Horse of the Year leaderboard, Yorkshire Glory and Aisling Oscar. Aisling Oscar burst to prominence this winter with eight straight wins for Adrian Keatley but has now gone four races without a victory and may have reached his ceiling. Yorkshire Glory, by contrast, is progressing rapidly for Ben Haslam and seeks a fifth consecutive success as he peaks in the closing stages of the all-weather championships. Billy Loughnane’s mount Betsen has been improving for Tony Carroll and could upset the pair, while previous course-and-distance winner Dyrholaey (Hollie Doyle/Archie Watson) merits respect back at Wolverhampton. The Flying Seagull and Glamour Show complete the line-up.
6.00 Wolverhampton — Laureate Crown and Waterford Castle headline
Four go to post in the Daily Profit Boosts At betmgm.co.uk Handicap. Waterford Castle, who finished third in last season’s Chesham Stakes for Ralph Beckett, disappointed on his stable debut 28 days ago for George Boughey; the step up in trip and some all-weather miles could suit the three-year-old. Laureate Crown, trained by Hugo Palmer, won on debut but then ran poorly in the Vintage Stakes and a Group 3 at Deauville; this will be his first run since being gelded and his first time on the all-weather, with champion jockey Oisin Murphy booked. Corey Gold is the most exposed of the quartet but arrives consistent and looks to improve over further after juvenile form behind Havana Hurricane. Born A Star (Connor Beasley, Charlie Johnston) completes the quartet.
6.30 Wolverhampton — Little Miss India bids for back-to-back wins
Little Miss India meets four rivals in the Bet £10 Get £40 With BetMGM Fillies’ Handicap, looking to follow up on a recent course success. The lightly raced five-year-old has adapted well to the Tapeta after earlier turf setbacks for Ian Williams and attempts a third career win off a career-high mark. Rose Cotton (Tom Clover) also arrives seeking a second successive victory after scoring over course and distance in January and remains unbeaten in handicaps since switching to the all-weather. Samra Star, a previous course-and-distance winner for Linda Perratt, returns at the same mark as her February success with Tom Kiely-Marshall to claim five pounds. Bella Bisbee (Scott Dixon) and Maywedance (John O’Shea) round out the quintet.
