We have a busy day’s racing on Monday with competitive All-Weather action from Wolverhampton, live on Sky Sports Racing.
8.30 Wolverhampton – Yorkshire Glory and Aisling Oscar clash
A field of six contest the final race, the Midnite Ain’t Your Grandads Bookie Handicap over six furlongs. The sprint centers on the top two in the All-Weather Horse of the Year Leaderboard, Yorkshire Glory and Aisling Oscar.
Aisling Oscar stormed to the top this winter with eight consecutive wins for Adrian Keatley but is without a win in his last four starts and may have reached his level. Yorkshire Glory, by contrast, is on an upward curve seeking a fifth straight success; Ben Haslam’s five-year-old looks to be peaking with under two weeks left in the all-weather championships.
Billy Loughnane’s mount Betsen could spoil the party after showing improvement for Tony Carroll and seeking a second all-weather success. Previous course-and-distance winner Dyrholaey for Hollie Doyle and Archie Watson is one to note returning to Wolverhampton. The Flying Seagull and Glamour Show complete the field.
6.00 Wolverhampton – Laureate Crown and Waterford Castle headline
Four go to post in the Daily Profit Boosts At betmgm.co.uk Handicap.
Waterford Castle, third in the Chesham Stakes last summer for Ralph Beckett, disappointed on stable debut 28 days ago for George Boughey; all-weather experience may help the three-year-old stepping up in trip. Laureate Crown, trained by Hugo Palmer, won on debut before finishing down the field in the Vintage Stakes and a Group 3 at Deauville; he appears here for the first run since being gelded and the first time on the all-weather with champion jockey Oisin Murphy booked.
Corey Gold is the most exposed but has run consistently and now steps beyond a mile seeking improvement after juvenile form behind Havana Hurricane. Born A Star (Connor Beasley, Charlie Johnston) completes the quartet.
6.30 Wolverhampton – Little Miss India seeks successive wins
Little Miss India faces four rivals in the Bet £10 Get £40 With BetMGM Fillies’ Handicap and will aim for back-to-back wins after justifying favouritism here last month. The lightly raced five-year-old has taken well to the Tapeta following turf struggles for Ian Williams and bids for a third career win off a career-high mark.
Rose Cotton (Tom Clover) also seeks successive victories after scoring over course and distance in January; switched to the all-weather last year and remains unbeaten in handicaps. Samra Star, a previous course-and-distance winner for Linda Perratt, returns at the same mark as her February win and has Tom Kiely-Marshall to claim five pounds. Bella Bisbee (Scott Dixon) and Maywedance (John O’Shea) complete the quintet.
