World No. 1 Luke Littler produced a remarkable fightback to win Premier League Night Seven in Dublin, rattling off six consecutive legs to beat Gerwyn Price 6-5 at the 3Arena.
Littler reached the semi-finals with a 6-3 victory over Stephen Bunting, then survived three match darts to edge Michael van Gerwen 6-5 in a sensational semi. Van Gerwen had moved 5-3 after a 170 finish, but the 19-year-old forced a decider and closed it out on double 5 while throwing first.
In the final Price surged into a 5-0 lead and appeared to have the match wrapped up, but he missed five match darts in total — including a key opportunity when 5-1 up — and Littler held firm to pull off the comeback. Across the night Littler survived eight match darts (three from van Gerwen and five from Price). Reflecting on the turnaround, he admitted he could hardly believe it, saying he felt out of the contest when Price was on tops.
Price had earlier produced a dominant semi-final display to defeat Luke Humphries 6-1, averaging over 109, hitting five 180s and converting six of nine attempts at doubles to deny Humphries a first nightly win of 2026.
The night’s quarter-finals were affected by Gian van Veen’s withdrawal with kidney stones, which handed Michael van Gerwen a bye into the semis and two league points; van Veen will be penalised with a minus-six leg difference. Josh Rock was comprehensively beaten by Price in the quarters as the Welshman averaged north of 103.66 and limited Rock to just four darts at double.
Littler’s quarter win over Bunting underlined his hot form: he averaged 105, hit four 180s and converted around 60% of his checkouts in that match.
Former player and pundit Wayne Mardle noted the short-night format’s unpredictability, saying nights like this often produce dramatic, swinging results where a single break can decide a match.
Selected Night Seven results:
– Quarter-finals: Michael van Gerwen (bye), Luke Littler 6-3 Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price 6-0 Josh Rock, Luke Humphries 6-3 Jonny Clayton
– Semi-finals: Luke Littler 6-5 Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price 6-1 Luke Humphries
– Final: Luke Littler 6-5 Gerwyn Price
The Dublin win extends Littler’s Premier League nightly victories across 2024–2026 and moves him to within three points of league leader Jonny Clayton as the competition heads to Night Eight.
Night Eight will take place in Berlin on March 26 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Scheduled quarter-final pairings for that night are:
– Jonny Clayton vs Josh Rock
– Luke Humphries vs Michael van Gerwen
– Luke Littler vs Stephen Bunting
– Gerwyn Price vs Gian van Veen
The Premier League continues its weekly run through May, with Luke Humphries defending the overall title.
