Plenty of racing action on Wednesday as Sky Sports Racing brings live coverage from Newcastle and Sedgefield…
3.17 Sedgefield – Prolific Supreme George bids for another win
In-form Supreme George tops a six-strong line-up for the Chris Blanckley Supporting Fairlight Studio Handicap Chase at Sedgefield.
The Donald McCain-trained six-year-old has won his last three starts, taking his chase record to three wins from four starts. He looks to have more to give over fences and a four-pound rise may not preclude further success.
Sea Thrift wears a first-time tongue-tie after a comfortable victory at Plumpton last month. She jumped well there and, if allowed to dictate, could be hard to reel in.
- Aswat becomes first black female jump jockey to win in Britain
- Fact To File strikes gold for Mullins at Leopardstown
Elsewhere, Double Digits was disappointing on his chase debut but could improve, while experienced Treaty Boy has dropped to a more attractive mark.
5.30 Newcastle – Spartan Fighter chases a four-timer
Spartan Fighter looks for a fourth straight victory in the Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Handicap at Newcastle.
The nine-year-old, trained by Anthony Brittain, completed a course-and-distance hat-trick when narrowly winning a similar contest 15 days ago and must be respected despite a further five-pound rise.
Yorkshire Glory claimed a third all-weather success when beating Instant Bond over this trip on his last outing and could improve again if the cheekpieces work. Pit Boss drops back after a solid second over seven furlongs at the track four days ago, and Fircombe Hall also merits consideration.
6.30 Newcastle – Hayynah expected to break her maiden
Hayynah aims to open her account in the Midnite Ain’t Your Grandad’s Bookie Maiden Stakes at Newcastle.
Olly Sangster’s filly by Showcasing has been runner-up in three of four starts, including when odds-on at Wolverhampton in August. Returned from a break with first-time cheekpieces, her rating of 83 makes her a leading contender.
Maybe Soon is a half-sister to several all-weather winners and showed promise on debut at Southwell, closing well under Andrew Elliott.
Newcomer Champonie should be watched in the market, while Bennyworth will need to improve from his Lingfield debut when tried in cheekpieces for the first time.
Best of the rest
Happy Valley – Dylan Browne McMonagle, Andrea Atzeni and Zac Purton feature among the rides.
7.30 Newcastle – Sintra is one to note for Juddmonte and Pendella could have a big chance for Karl Burke.
1.30 Cagnes-sur-Mer – The Wertheimer brothers look to have a solid chance with Astira.
