Rangers have completed the signing of 22-year-old striker Ryan Naderi for a reported £4.7m on Deadline Day. The Ibrox club had earlier agreed a £3m move to bring Naderi in during the summer, but after further talks with Hansa Rostock — who had wanted to keep him until the end of the season — the transfer was finalised.
Naderi is manager Danny Röhl’s fourth January arrival, following the loan signing of winger Andreas Skov Olsen and permanent deals for midfielder Tochi Chukuwani and left-back Tuur Rommens. He has signed a long-term contract at Rangers.
On the club’s website after signing, Naderi said: “I am really pleased that this move has happened. Now I am here, I plan to make the most of this opportunity. Rangers are a world-renowned club who have a history of winning silverware and that’s what I am here to achieve. I am looking forward to meeting my new team-mates, all of the staff and the supporters in the days and weeks ahead. I am ready to get started and I hope to have a positive impact on the team for the rest of the season.”
Röhl added: “I am delighted to add Ryan to the squad. He is still young in terms of his playing career, but he has shown in Germany that he knows the way to goal as well as contributing with a number of assists due to his high level of skill. He is someone who has a lot of potential and I believe we can help take his game to the next level. We will help him adapt to his new surrounds and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do in a Rangers shirt.”
Naderi began his senior career with his hometown club Dynamo Dresden before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021, later joining Hansa Rostock.
