Leah Williamson and Beth Mead have been named in England’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Iceland. Mead missed the February camp through injury, while captain Williamson is being given time to prove her fitness after a hamstring issue that has kept her out of Arsenal’s last three matches. With two weeks to go until the first match, Williamson is included for the trip to Wembley.
Uncapped 17-year-old Erica Meg Parkinson earns her first senior call-up after progressing through England’s youth system. Born in Singapore to an English father and Japanese mother, Parkinson plays for Portuguese top‑flight side Valadares Gaia and is eligible for England, Japan, Portugal and Singapore.
Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton and Ella Toone are absent from the April squad because of injury.
England meet Spain at Wembley on April 14 — their first meeting since the Euro 2025 final — then travel to Reykjavik to face Iceland on April 18. England currently top Group A3 on goal difference ahead of Spain; only the group winner qualifies automatically for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
