Tiger Woods has confirmed he will return to play for Jupiter Links GC for the final night of the TGL season on Tuesday, live on Sky Sports.
Woods has been in a non-playing role with Jupiter Links throughout the 2026 season, having not played on the PGA Tour since July 2024 and undergoing back surgery last October. He had earlier said he hoped to be fit to feature in TGL but sat out their semi-final win over Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common on March 17 and Match 1 of the SoFi Cup Finals on Monday.
Los Angeles Golf Club claimed a 6-5 win to go 1-0 up in the best-of-three series, and Woods will replace Kevin Kisner in the Jupiter Links line-up for Tuesday’s season finale at the SoFi Center. Woods, Max Homa and Tom Kim will face Los Angeles trio Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Sahith Theegala. Jupiter Links must win Match 2 (11pm UK time) to level the series and force a decider; a Los Angeles victory would make the series unassailable at 2-0. If Jupiter wins, Match 3 would be later that evening (1am Wednesday UK time).
“As a team, we were together in this, all of us together, and it was close,” Woods said after Monday’s loss. “We had our opportunities; they had their opportunities. We could have flipped in the middle of that back nine, and it came down to the last hole. We were in a playoff once, and this was damn near there. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, but we have possibly two more matches. We’re not out of this. Even with a loss we’re still not out of it.”
How Tiger’s team lost Finals opener
Kisner missed a six-foot birdie putt on the opening hole of the triples (3v3 alternate shot) format, allowing Los Angeles to seize an early advantage by winning the par-five second with a birdie. Theegala found the penalty area off the tee and later missed a three-footer for bogey at the par-three sixth, while Fleetwood lipped out from a similar distance on the next hole, giving Jupiter Links a 2-1 lead.
Rose chipped in from 35 feet at the eighth to level, before Los Angeles declined the Hammer at the ninth — a decision to double the hole’s value — which left Woods’ side with a narrow advantage heading into singles.
Los Angeles moved 4-3 up when Rose won the 10th and Jupiter Links declined the Hammer on the 11th. Kisner then levelled at the 12th after Theegala sent another shot into the penalty area. Homa capitalised on a missed birdie putt from Rose at the 13th, and Kim and Fleetwood traded birdies at the 14th to leave Jupiter Links one ahead with one hole to play.
Los Angeles then threw the Hammer on the final hole to double its value. Theegala converted a two-putt birdie while Kisner missed his chip-in attempt, handing Los Angeles the 6-5 victory and a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
“I feel like we got away with one today,” Fleetwood said. “They’re a good team. They’re a tough team. I feel like I want to give them a lot of credit for the unit that they are. It was very close tonight. It could have gone either way. We could be stood here one game down very easily. We’ve had the better of them twice, but we have to focus on tomorrow [Tuesday].”
