Rory McIlroy returns to TGL action for the SoFi Cup Playoffs on Tuesday, live on Sky Sports, while Tiger Woods again sits out the 2026 season as he recovers from injury.
McIlroy’s Boston Common face Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club in the second match of Tuesday’s double-header at the SoFi Center. Boston Common finished first in the SoFi Cup standings, with Jupiter Links fourth. McIlroy, the world No 2, had said “we’ll see” when asked about featuring in the semi-finals after a disappointing title defence at The Players and a recent back injury. He headlines Boston Common alongside Adam Scott and former Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley.
Jupiter Links will be represented by Akshay Bhatia, Max Homa and Tom Kim, with Woods watching from the sidelines after undergoing another back surgery last October. Woods had earlier expressed hope of playing in TGL this season; his continued absence raises questions about a potential comeback at The Masters next month. Tom Kim’s hole-in-one on the 14th at the SoFi Centre helped send Jupiter Links into the playoffs.
The earlier semi-final sees Atlanta Drive GC pursue back-to-back TGL titles against Los Angeles Golf Club. Los Angeles feature Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Sahith Theegala; Collin Morikawa is missing after withdrawing early from The Players due to a back issue. Atlanta Drive line up Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup and Billy Horschel, with Justin Thomas sitting out after recently returning from a four-month injury layoff.
The opening semi-final begins Tuesday at 10.30pm, live on Sky Sports Golf, with the second match starting at 1am on Wednesday. The two winners progress to next week’s best-of-three final series; the opening final match is scheduled for 9pm on Monday March 23 (1am Tuesday March 24 UK time).
