It’s a busy day on Sky Sports Racing with coverage from Lingfield and Newcastle.
6.30 Newcastle – Doctor Khan Junior fancied to go close
Doctor Khan Junior tops a field of eight for the feature Win £250,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap at Newcastle. George Oldroyd’s seven-year-old battled bravely to record a sixth all-weather success at Southwell in January and should give another bold bid with PJ McDonald retaining the ride. Last year’s winner Nikovo has finished in the frame on his last three starts, including third at Kempton last time, and with that form working out well he can go well again under Jason Hart. Aisling Oscar returns after two defeats following his record-equalling run, while Eldrickjones, only beaten three lengths when fourth last time, cannot be dismissed.
3.25 Lingfield – Fidelius and Toolatetonegotiate headline
Fidelius and Toolatetonegotiate head a tricky renewal of the Make The Move To Midnite Handicap at Lingfield. Robert Cowell and Tom Marquand combine on Fidelius, who won a course-and-distance handicap on his penultimate run before chasing home Atomic Force at Chelmsford in a Class 2 contest; this looks an excellent chance for him to return to winning ways. Toolatetonegotiate has a length to find on Fidelius from their February clash and could close the gap with a sharper break from the stalls. The Thames Boatman is best of the rest, having struck gold over this course and distance three starts back; he remains 2lb higher than that winning mark but is not without a chance.
2.34 Saint-Cloud – Silius and Ultrafragola face returning Fast Tracker
The Listed Prix Altipan is the feature at Saint-Cloud, where Silius and Ultrafragola look likely types. Francis-Henri Graffard saddles Ultrafragola with Christophe Soumillon aboard; she doubled her career tally when winning a conditions race at Deauville on her reappearance and merits a shot at this level. Fast Tracker, a useful three-year-old for Henri-Alex Pantall, returns after 509 days off following a six-length Deauville success in this grade in October 2024; gelded since, he debuts for Ed Walker. Silius, successful at Chantilly on his latest start in January, also commands respect.
