Formula 1 heads to the Las Vegas Strip Circuit as the 2025 title fight reaches its decisive final three weeks. The Las Vegas GP opens a triple-header that concludes the season, followed by Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Lando Norris arrives as favourite in the Drivers’ Championship after back-to-back wins, holding a 24-point lead over team-mate Oscar Piastri with 83 points still available. Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen both need strong weekends if they are to keep title hopes alive.
McLaren and Red Bull were off the pace in Vegas last year while Mercedes dominated the cool November conditions, with George Russell leading Lewis Hamilton to a one-two. Ferrari have taken front-row starts and podiums in both previous editions and will be targeting another strong showing after slipping to fourth in the constructors’ standings in Brazil. F1 Academy stages its season finale in Vegas, with Mercedes’ Doriane Pin and Ferrari’s Maya Weug battling for the all-female series’ championship.
Las Vegas Strip Circuit
Considered F1’s most ambitious street project, the Las Vegas Strip Circuit is 3.8 miles long with 17 corners. The layout runs past landmarks such as the Venetian, the Bellagio fountains and the Paris Eiffel Tower, and includes a 1.2-mile flat-out blast down the Strip. With an average speed of around 150mph on pole laps, it’s F1’s second-fastest street track after Jeddah and has produced plenty of overtaking and action in its first two years.
Weather
Late-November conditions in Nevada typically bring mild daytime temperatures in the mid-to-high teens Celsius and chilly evenings dropping toward single digits. Sessions are held in late afternoon/evening local time, and no rain is currently expected for the 2025 weekend.
