Formula 1 and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) confirm that the 2026 Concorde Governance Agreement has been signed by both parties and all 11 Formula 1 teams. This follows March’s announcement that the 2026 Commercial Concorde Agreement had already been signed by all teams and Formula 1.
Together, these documents form the ninth Concorde Agreement, defining the regulatory framework and the commercial and governance terms of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship through 2030. The agreement aligns the key stakeholders—Formula 1 as the Commercial Rights Holder, the FIA as the governing body, and the F1 teams—on the commercial and governance structures that will support the next five years, including a new era of power unit and car regulations beginning in 2026.
The Concorde Agreement reinforces the parties’ commitment to grow and develop the sport, enabling the FIA to invest further in race regulation, race direction, stewarding, and technical expertise for the benefit of the Championship. It supports continued technological innovation and sporting action for fans, broadcasters and partners within a stable regulatory framework.
Combined with record viewership growth, an expanding race calendar, and rising engagement from younger audiences, the FIA Formula 1 World Championship enters its next chapter with strong momentum.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said the agreement positions Formula 1 to continue global growth and thanked the FIA and teams for their collaboration and determination. Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA, said the ninth Concorde Agreement secures the Championship’s long-term future, supports modernisation of regulatory, technological and operational capabilities, and recognises the contribution of race directors, officials and volunteers who underpin every event.
