He played college football at BYU, where he was a two-time bowl game MVP, and was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Wilson was born in Draper, Utah, on August 3, 1999. He attended Corner Canyon High School, where he played high school football.
He passed for 2,986 yards and 24 touchdowns while also rushing for 752 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior.
Wilson originally committed to play quarterback at Boise State University before later decommitting and choosing to attend Brigham Young University (BYU).

It didn’t take long for Wilson’s mother Lisa to get in on the joke either. Taking to Instagram on Friday, Lisa Wilson posted a video where she was spending time with one of her friends. But at one point in the video, she hints that her friend isn’t the one being rumored:

Abbey Gile, who hails from Utah, has been linked to Wilson since they were teens. In August 2017, she posted a photo of the athlete, who played for Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah.
A student at Utah Valley University in Orem, Gile is an accomplished dancer, with her troupe winning first place in a February 2019 contest.
Wilson, who was selected in the 2021 NFL Draft after Trevor Lawrence, previously called Gile “supportive,” according to the Deseret News.
Ahead of the draft, the pair appeared to enjoy a getaway with Wilson’s former BYU teammates and their significant others. Gile popped up in Instagram snapshots posted by Emily Bushman, who is married to the school’s former tight end Matt Bushman.
