Injury
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson limped off the field during the first quarter of Friday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field with a knee injury.
Wilson walked back to the locker room after he was examined by the medical staff. He was hurt when he scrambled and appeared to make an awkward cut after he turned upfield.

Speaking to reporters after the game, head coach Robert Saleh said the Jets would know more after they receive the results of Wilson’s MRI on Saturday. He also said Wilson’s ACL is “supposed to be intact.”
Wilson is looking to bounce back from a disappointing rookie season after being selected No. 2 overall in the 2021 draft.
Zach Wilson injury update
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson left Friday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a knee injury and will await an MRI on Saturday to determine its severity.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said after his team’s 24-21 win he had no update.
“We’re going to wait on the MRI tomorrow,” Saleh said, adding that Wilson’s ACL was “supposed to be intact,” but he won’t know anything definitively until Saturday.
The Brigham Young product’s departure came after he scrambled for seven yards and made an awkward cut on a first-quarter play. Wilson, who was not contacted on the play, came up limping, seemingly favoring his right leg, and left for the locker room. He was replaced by backup QB Mike White.
New York later ruled Wilson questionable to return with a knee injury, but he never reentered the game.
The team is already reeling from former first-round pick offensive tackle Mekhi Becton likely being lost for the year with a fractured kneecap and the loss of Wilson would obviously be another massive blow for the team.
Mom
Lisa Wilson has a bone to pick with some “joke news sources.”
In a series of Instagram Stories shared Tuesday, the mother of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson claimed that unnamed outlets were “hiding out in the parking lot” of her fitness facility to snap photos, days after her 22-year-old son was at the center of a wild dating rumor.
“Look, believe me, I know that sometimes life can be stupid. I mean, hell, I just found out that there were some ridiculous news sources, like joke news sources, hiding out in the parking lot of my gym taking pictures of me,” Lisa said.
The Wilson matriarch, who boasts a massive social media following, added a few words of encouragement to fans, noting, “you’re in charge of your own happiness,” and “none of these people get to write your story.”
She then gave a follower a shout-out before calling out the media once again.
“Screw the media following me to the gym,” Lisa wrote alongside a playful emoji that featured its tongue sticking out with a wink. “I do this because of people like you.”
