After two exciting games in Houston, the Astros and Phillies head to Philadelphia with the World Series even at 1-1.

Houston’s stars shined bright in a decisive Game 2 win, this after Philly rallied from a huge hole to steal Game 1.

The next three games will be played in the City of Brotherly Love, where the underdogs have an opportunity to claim the crown without leaving home.

World series game 3 postponed

Game 3 of the World Series on Monday between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros was postponed due to inclement weather, the league announced.

The rained-out contest, which was set to be held at Citizens Bank Park, forced Major League Baseball to shift the remaining games by one day. Game 3 will be held Tuesday.

This is also the most recent in a string of World Series Game 3s affected by rain for Philly. The Game 3s held in Philadelphia during the 1993, 2008, and 2009 World Series were all delayed by rain but not postponed.

The weather forecast for rain in Philadelphia on Monday led MLB officials to postpone Game 3 on Halloween. The game will be played on Tuesday and Games 4 and 5 will be played on Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting.

The forecast in Philadelphia for the next three days is partially cloudy Tuesday and sunny with a high near 70ºF on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rained out

World Series Game 3 has been postponed tonight due to rain in Philadelphia and will be played on Tuesday. Also the game, and the entire adjusted World Series schedule, will be broadcast on FOX31.

Tonight’s TV schedule for both FOX31 KDVR and Channel 2 KWGN will now be changed because the game is not being played.

The series between the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies is tied at 1-1 going into Game 3 at Citizens Bank Park.

The unique twist with this postseason rainout is that instead of playing Game 6 on Friday, the two teams will still have a full travel day, pushing the potential Game 6 and Game 7 in Houston to Saturday and Sunday.

Monday’s postponement also put the World Series up against the NFL on Thursday night and force Philadelphia and Houston fans to choose between watching their local baseball or football teams.

The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to play the Houston Texans on Thursday night in Houston.
