Team India’s star player Virat Kohli has lashed out after he posted a video of his hotel room where his privacy was breached.

“I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment,” wrote Virat in his Instagram post.

There has been no statement from the organisers and Cricket Australia as of yet, but it is expected that strict action will be taken and security will be deployed to avoid such incidents in the future.

It remains to be seen on how the incident is dealt by the authority while India make their way to Adelaide where they play Bangladesh on Wednesday (November 2).

In the video, the entire room was showcased where his clothing, footwear, and other stuff were shown. The video also showcased the cosmetics that he uses on regular basis.

The video later went viral on the internet and reached Virat who found it a serious breach of his privacy.

He would later post the same video on his Instagram, while condemning the act. Australia player David Warner also commented on the post and called it ‘Ridiculous,’

Taking cognisance of Kohli’s post, Australian opener David Warner questioned the security standards of the luxurious hotel in the wake of the incident.

“This is ridiculous, totally unacceptable. Was this @crownperth,” Warner said. Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma has also reacted to the viral post on the photo and video-sharing platform.

“I understand that fans get happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that.

“But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy,” Kohli, who has regained his touch during the ongoing T20 World Cup, wrote.

“If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment,” he wrote further.

In the video, titled ‘King Kohli’s Hotel Room’, a man is seen walking around the room showing Kohli’s personal belongings such as health supplements, collection of shoes, his opened suitcase that contained India jerseys, caps and a pair of glasses on his table.

It appears that more than one person, possibly members of hotel staff, were inside the room when the video was shot.
