UFC Fight Night : Cannonier vs Strickland | Fight time
A middleweight bout between former UFC Middleweight Championship challenger Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland served as the main event.
The pairing was previously scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Araújo, but it was scrapped after Strickland withdrew due to a finger infection.
A middleweight bout between Bruno Silva and Albert Duraev was scheduled to take place at the event. However, Silva withdrew due to an injury and was replaced by Michał Oleksiejczuk.
In turn, Duraev was forced to withdrew for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by Cody Brundage.
Former UFC Flyweight Championship challenger Alex Perez was expected to face Amir Albazi at the event.
However, he pulled out due to undisclosed reasons in late October and was replaced by Brandon Royval.
UFC Fight Night Cannonier vs Strickland
UFC will be wrapping up this year with its last event in Nevada with UFC Fight Night also known as UFC vegas 66.
In the main card, Jared Cannonier will take on Sean Strickland in the main event in the middleweight category. The ‘Killa Gorilla’ Cannonier has won one and lost one bout this year.
The American-born fighter Jared lost against Israel Adesanya by decision after five rounds.
The 38-year-old won his bout this year against Derek Brunson in UFC 271 by TKO in the second round.
Sean Strickland lost both of his fights this year. He lost his previous bout against Alex Pereira in the UFC 276 by TKO in the first round.
The undisputed champion of the middleweight category ‘Izzy’ lost against Alex Pereira in UFC 281. The Brazilian Pereira is the current UFC middleweight champion.
The UFC Fight Night or UFC Vegas 66 featuring Jared Cannonier vs Sean Strickland will take place at the UFC Apex facility in Nevada, Las Vegas ( USA).
Sony Sports Network is the official Broadcaster of UFC in India. The main card event will be aired on Sony Ten 2 & 3 Channel.

The preliminary event will begin at 3.30 AM IST followed by the main card and it is expected to start at 5.30 AM IST (depending upon the length of previous fights) on Sunday 18th December 2022.
