One of the NFL’s highest regarded amateur prospects, Lawrence was nearly unanimously projected to be taken first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lawrence drew comparisons to Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks John Elway and Peyton Manning and 2012 first overall pick Andrew Luck, with the slogan “Tank for Trevor” gaining popularity among fans of struggling teams.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Lawrence as the fourth highest-graded quarterback he evaluated behind Elway, Luck, and Manning.
After undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Lawrence was officially selected first overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who finished with a league-worst 1–15 record the previous season.
Trevor Lawrence injury video
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence went down with a leg injury late in the first half against the Detroit Lions after getting hit low by linebacker James Houston.
Lawrence immediately grabbed for his left leg after taking the hit and his teammates took a knee on the turf beside him.
The Jaguars quarterback was able to get up and limp off the field under his own power while CJ Beathard loosened up and prepared to enter the game.
The injury occurred right before halftime, so Lawrence will be closely examined during the break.
The injury looked grim, however, causing him to immediately reach for his left leg. His leg appeared to twist after the hit from Houston, sending Jaguars fans into a state of panic.
Seeing him walk off under his own power is encouraging, especially given the way his leg twisted on the play. If he doesn’t return, it’ll be Beathard taking over for the Jags in the second half.
Beathard was the one spotted warming up on the field after halftime, however, Doug Pederson indicated that the Jaguars are expecting to have Lawrence available in the second half, via Jennifer Hale.
Is Trevor Lawrence gay
No, Trevor Lawrence is not gay and has been straight his whole life.
People were shocked when Trevor was in an open relationship with a female companion.
Though he has never publicly commented anything regarding his sexuality rumors, the public somewhat had assumed him to be homosexual.
Moving on, Trevor is a graduate of Cartersville High School, where he played football and basketball.
In 2016, he received the title The Atlanta Journal-Constitution player of the year after he completed 250 of 406 passes for 3,904 yards.
Trevor Lawrence took the world by storm with his talent and boldness on the football field. Now, his love story with high school sweetheart Marissa Lawrence is taking center stage.
The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback first met his future wife in 2016, when the pair were still in high school.
They got engaged in 2020 in the Clemson University stadium, where Trevor led his college team to many victories, and they tied the knot a year later.
Trevor and Marissa celebrated their one-year anniversary as husband and wife in April 2022. The NFL pro surprised his wife with the vacation of a lifetime, whisking her away on a tropical trip during the offseason.
“Thank you @tlawrence16 for planning the sweetest surprise anniversary trip🕊 I couldn’t love ya more or getting to travel the world with you! Cheers to another adventure 🤍,” Marissa wrote on Instagram.
Marissa is very supportive of her husband’s budding career. In January 2022, she reflected on Trevor’s rookie NFL season, praising him and noting the challenges he faced in his first year in the league.
“Wow.. what a year babe!! Lots of highs and lows,” she captioned the photos. “A lot of learning and a lot of growing. A lot of adversity and newness. But there was also a lottt of good … good friendships … Good memories. Goodness in the growth you’ve seen, the leadership you’ve learned deeper, and the [adversity] you’ve faced that made you stronger. You are and always will be the most amazing person I know. The way you handle things and do it with so much grace and love will always inspire me.”
