She is the current World, Commonwealth and African champion in the 100 m hurdles, as well as, the record holder in the three competitions.
Amusan became the first Nigerian world champion in an athletics event when she won the 2022 World Championships 100 m hurdles gold medal, setting the current world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal, followed up by a wind-assisted 12.06 s in the final to take a gold.
She won back to back Commonwealth and African titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100m hurdles and is also a two-time African Games champion in the event.

Telecommunications giant, Globacom, on Thursday, unveiled women’s 100m hurdles World Record Holder, Tobi Amusan, as its Brand Ambassador.
Amusan became the first Nigerian to win a gold medal in 100 metres hurdles at the 2022 World Athletics Championships and set a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal and 12.06 seconds in the final to take the gold medal.
She also won back-to-back African and commonwealth titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100m hurdles event, a two-time African Games champion in the event.
She competed in the 100m hurdles at the Zurich Diamond League event, which she won in 12.29 seconds.
Amusan in her response said, “It is a proud day for me and I am grateful to God, m delighted to be associated with his illustrious company because I have always admired the company and I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with them.”

Tobi Amusan World record
Tobi Amusan’s world record in the Women’s 100m Hurdles at the semifinals of the Athletics Championships in Oregon in July has been ratified by the World Athletics (previously known as IAAF).
A statement by the athletics body confirmed the status on Tuesday morning, September 20.
Impressive Amusan stunned the world when she crossed the finish line at 12.12 seconds to displace former world record holder, Kendra Harrison, who had set the world record in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.20 seconds in 2016.
Amusan followed up with another blistering performance in the final with another sensational performance of 12.06 (2.5m/s) to win the final, but that was tagged wind-assisted.
The time of 12.12 seconds makes it the official world record to beat in the women’s hurdles.
She got another record-breaking gold medal for team Nigeria, this time at the commonwealth games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
