Rajon Rondo Indiana
Former Kentucky Wildcats and former NBA star Rajon Rondo was arrested in southern Indiana.
Rondo was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 65 in Jackson County, Indiana.
A caller said that around 1 p.m. Sunday, they saw a car driving recklessly on I-65 South in Bartholomew County.
An ISP trooper saw the car shortly after that and made a traffic stop.
The trooper said they identified the 37-year-old Rondo and could smell marijuana coming out of the car.
A search was conducted, and the trooper found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
Rondo is currently not allowed to have a firearm due to having a protection order in place against him.
He was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail, where he bonded out.
ISP noted that a juvenile was with Rondo at the time of his arrest. They were released to a family member after he was arrested.
Rondo’s charges include possession of a firearm while being prohibited, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In May 2022, a Louisville woman alleged that Rondo came to her house and threatened her with a gun.
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo joined ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday to explain why he doesn’t embrace the “Playoff Rondo” nickname.
Rondo, who won his second NBA title after the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in six games at Walt Disney World, thinks the moniker takes away from what he’s been able to accomplish in the regular season.
During the regular season with the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and Lakers, Rondo has compiled averages of 10.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists. He was a four-time All-Star with the Celtics and won the 2008 championship over the Lakers.
Rondo has appeared in 121 playoff games with the Celtics, Mavs, Bulls, Pelicans and Lakers. He has career postseason numbers of 13.3 points, 5.9 boards and 9.0 assists.
So as you can see, there isn’t that much of a difference between “Regular Season Rondo” and “Playoff Rondo.” He’s a Hall of Fame point guard who has now won a title with the two most storied franchises in NBA history — the Lakers and Celtics — and deserves a lot of credit for turning his career around after what happened with the Mavs.
In the 2020 Finals against the Heat, Rondo put up 8.7 points and 5.5 assists in 26.0 minutes per game. He poured in 19 points off the bench in Game 6 to help the Lakers clinch the title.
Net worth 2023
Rajon Rondo’s net worth is estimated to be around $50 million USD. Throughout his 18-year NBA career, he has amassed over $117 million in salary.
