The right-handed, hard-hitting all-rounder was on fire for his team, Atlanta Fire, in the USA-based T20 league, Atlanta Open 2022, scoring an unbeaten 205 runs from 77 balls with the help of 17 fours and 22 sixes.
The 29-year-old all-rounder, who has represented Men in Maroon in nine Test matches till date, played an innings to remember for ages as his brutal assault helped him to do something which no other player had been able to do so till date.
Thanks to his sensational hitting, his team posted a total of 326 runs on the board for the loss of just one wicket against Square Drive and won the match by a margin of 172 runs after they restricted the opposition to 154 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
However, Cornwall’s record feat will not go into the history books of T20 matches as the Atlanta Open is not a recognised tournament.
The record for the highest T20 score will still remain with his countryman Chris Gayle, who slammed an unbeaten 175 runs from 66 balls for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2013 match against Pune Warriors India at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
