The team is taking on Sri Lanka in their first group stage game of the tournament. While it would be a tough challenge to take on the Asia Cup 2022 winners, Wiese believes that Namibia have to believe in their own abilities.

Namibia lost both their openers early and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (20) fell to a wonderful catch from Kusal Mendis as the score was just 43/3 at the end of the Powerplay.

Star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga (1/27) bowled well during the middle overs, but Frylinck and Smit got on top at the death to set Sri Lanka a decent chase on what appears a good batting pitch.
