Adam Zimmer, offensive analyst for the Cincinnati Bengals and son of former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, died Monday night at age 38. No cause of death has been given.
His sister, Corri Zimmer White, shared the news in a devastating Instagram post on Tuesday morning.
In her post, Corri called Adam the “kindest, sweetest, family-loving, sports-obsessed soul there ever was,” who loved watching her be a mom to her one-year-old twin boys.
The Bengals also released a statement about Zimmer’s death.
Zimmer was 10 when he decided he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a coach, which is when the elder Zimmer became the defensive backs coach for the Dallas Cowboys.
He goofed around, because that’s what kids do — Zimmer told twincities.com that he once got yelled at by his dad for getting a Cowboys golf cart stuck in a sand volleyball court — but he was serious about football.

Details around Zimmer’s death are unclear at this time.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins took to Twitter on Tuesday to pay his respects to Adam and the Zimmer family after learning the news of his passing.
“Deeply saddened by the news of Adam Zimmer…tremendous coach & person. Had the privilege of sitting next to him flying back from games. Learned so much. Praying for the Zimmer family.”
Zimmer, the son of former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, was a consultant for the Cincinnati Bengals this season and had previously been an NFL assistant from 2006 through 2022.
“Our organization has had the privilege of knowing and working with the Zimmer family for 15 years,” Bengals owner Mike Brown said in a statement Tuesday. “We have the highest regard for Mike and Adam, and we are incredibly saddened by this tragic news. Mike and Adam were more than just coaches for us — they were friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Zimmer family at this time.”
Adam began his NFL coaching career with the New Orleans Saints as an assistant linebackers coach from 2006-2009, and was a part of the club’s Super Bowl-winning staff in his final year.
“The thoughts and prayers of the New Orleans Saints organization go out to the entire Zimmer family, including Adam’s father, Mike and his two sisters, Corri and Marki, following the passing of Adam Zimmer,” the New Orleans Saints said in a statement. “We had fond memories of Adam from the four years that he spent in our organization as an assistant coach from 2006-09, including serving as a member of our Super Bowl Championship coaching staff.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has made his relationship with model Katarina Miketin official after a year’s worth of rumors.
The couple’s relationship had been suspected for about a year after the two were seen at a Vikings part in early October 2020.
Neither of them said whether or not the rumors were true until this November when Miketin responded to an Instagram direct message asking if the two were dating. Miketin made things “official” after she said yes.
Katarina Miketin is a 40-year-old model from Duluth, Minn. Her parents are immigrants from Yugoslavia, but Miketin has resided in Minnesota most of her life. She appears to be a long-time Vikings fan, posting about attending games in 2018.
